Judy M.
Registered Nurse, Midlands Regional Rehabilitation Hospital
“After many years away from bedside nursing, I decided to make a career change and go back to the bedside. I enjoyed 25+ years in home health before my career change.
Midlands Regional Rehabilitation Hospital is a gratifying place of employment. I enjoy the teamwork of all the therapists, nursing, and the entire staff to achieve our patients’ goals. The first day for a patient is terrified and overwhelmed. They often do not know what to think or expect, having come from an acute care hospital with such a different focus for their care. One of the most rewarding times of this job is to reassure a patient on that first day that they will improve, and we will assist them in meeting their goals. Then a few weeks later, to see the previously apprehensive face of that same patient walk out of the facility with a look of pride and confidence. They are so proud of what they have accomplished. Yes, this job is challenging at times, but the rewards far outweigh the challenges.”
